Collabro is an award-winning UK-based musical theatre group and the winner of the eighth series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. When the group’s management was looking for a production company for their first-ever UK tour, they turned to Cuffe & Taylor Event Management, who selected Congo Design for the lighting design moving forward. The band’s unique ethos, a fusion of the popular boy band image with musical theatre songs, provided complete artistic freedom for the lighting design to match the emotions of the music being portrayed.

As with any tour, the production had to be adaptable to venues of all sizes, from the intimate Leeds City Varieties to the grandeur of the Royal Albert Hall. A scalable lighting design was essential, which could be tailored to each venue without compromising the overall look of the show. We utilized Martin Mac Vipers and Auras for their ability to cut through any sized venue’s space, together with the Avolites Tiger Touch console system and backup.
